Swarm of Bees Moving into a Bait Hive (I got Stung)

Contains the F word at the end of the video.

A bait hive I had set up got some new residents. The bees were in the process of making it their new home. This bait hive is made with rough-sawn spruce from a local mill. Rough and ready.

I decided to get a bit too close with my phone camera. I was then stung on the face by a random bee. All in a days work.

Bait hives are a great way to increase your bee numbers. Once they get settled in you can move the bait hive to a new location, as long as it is 3 miles away at least. That is another story.

Bees swarm often in the Summer. If you are well organised you can take advantage of this and increase your hive numbers naturally.
