From mastermind Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within 2 is the latest evolution of survival horror. Detective Sebastian Castellanos has lost it all. But when given a chance to save his daughter, he must descend once more into the nightmarish world of STEM. Horrifying threats emerge from every corner as the world twists and warps around him. Chapter 13 - Stronghold:

Sebastian awakens in Hoffman’s safe house and discovers that Torres died during the chaos of Chapter 12, her body lying nearby with an assault rifle he can claim. Hoffman sends him back into Union, now swarming with flamethrower enemies, bloated Lost, and roaming bosses as Sebastian searches for gear, keys, ammo pouches, and upgrades while navigating the ruined streets. He can complete Sykes’s final side mission, Last Step, before pushing deeper toward Theodore’s towering stronghold. After regrouping with Hoffman at the hotel, she deploys a portable field stabilizer, and Sebastian must protect her from waves of Lost as they move through the flames. The chapter ends when the stabilizer fails one final time, and Sebastian breaks through into Theodore’s Stronghold.

Chapter 14 - Burning the Altar:

Inside Theodore’s Stronghold, a twisted cathedral built from fear and fire, Sebastian climbs floor after floor toward Lily. He discovers Theodore’s Scriptures, new ammo pouches, and crafting rooms while navigating burning Lost, flame valves, and frozen-liquid nitrogen traps. After disabling multiple flame walls and battling waves of enemies, Sebastian reaches a gauntlet of boss rematches: a chainsaw brute, multiple Keepers, and finally the Spider Lady, who must be lured into a fire trap. Once she’s defeated, Theodore appears—only for Myra to intervene and kill him herself. Sebastian escapes the collapsing stronghold as Union begins to crumble around him.

Chapter 15 - The End of This World:

Sebastian emerges to find Union in ruins, shattered by Myra as she tries to keep him away from Lily. He navigates collapsing streets, petrified Lost, and environmental traps while gathering supplies and fighting through multiple Mobius barriers conjured by Myra. In the city outskirts, she summons a massive electric-wire monstrosity, which Sebastian must defeat using explosive bolts, environmental hazards, or high-powered weapons. After the creature falls, Sebastian searches the devastated arena for ammo and green gel before continuing onward. The chapter ends as he finally catches up to Myra—only for her to tear open the world again and vanish deeper into STEM.

Chapter 16 - In Limbo:

Sebastian awakens in a blank, white limbo where visions of Myra, Kidman, and Theodore echo through the void. Passing from memory to memory, he finds Sebastian’s Room one last time, allowing final upgrades, red gel usage, and ammo crafting before the endgame. As he approaches his house in the distance, Myra attacks in her monstrous final form, beginning a multi-phase boss fight. Sebastian targets her glowing abdomen, shoulder weak points, and mouth while using petrified Lost to restock ammo. Once her limbs and defenses collapse, Sebastian destroys her final weak point—ending her rampage and freeing her true self.

Chapter 17 - A Way Out:

With Myra restored, Sebastian races to rescue Lily as the collapsing world around them begins to dissolve. The scene shifts to Kidman, who battles waves of Mobius operatives with infinite ammo while rebelling against the organization from inside their facility. Back in Union, Sebastian retrieves the final collectible—a replica Keeper—in his living room before climbing upstairs to reunite with Lily at last. Kidman fights her way to the STEM chamber to free them, triggering the final cutscene. Sebastian and Lily escape the dying STEM system together, bringing the nightmare of Union to an end.
