WASHINGTON, November 16, 2025 — CNN’s Dana Bash challenged Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene over President Trump abruptly severing ties with her, despite years of loyalty and financial support. Greene said she believes the rupture centers entirely on her push to release the Epstein files.

Bash opened the exchange by reminding Greene, “You were one of his biggest supporters. What do you think happened here?”

Greene replied, “I stood with President Trump when virtually no one else did. I campaigned all over the country, spent millions of my own money helping him get elected. His remarks have been hurtful, but I want to end the toxic fighting in politics.” She added that calling her a “traitor” was “extremely wrong” and “dangerous,” warning such rhetoric can radicalize people and put her life at risk.

Pressed again on what caused the split, Greene pointed directly to the upcoming House vote:
“Unfortunately, it has all come down to the Epstein files. I stand with rape victims, survivors of abuse, and those trapped in trafficking. I won’t apologize for demanding transparency. Rich, powerful people should not be protected if they’ve done anything wrong.”

Greene emphasized she is not accusing Trump of wrongdoing, noting that multiple Epstein victims have told her directly that Trump “did nothing wrong”—some even voted for him.
“That’s what confuses people,” she said. “I have no idea what’s in the files. But why fight so hard to keep them sealed?”
