The controversial B.B.C. Panorama episode, Trump: A Second Chance?, aired just before the 2024 U.S. election.

It spliced together two separate quotes from Trump’s January 6, 2021 speech, making it appear he urged supporters to “fight like hell” and walk with him to the Capitol — even though those lines were spoken nearly an hour apart and in different contexts.

This misleading edit triggered backlash, a threatened $5 billion lawsuit, and the resignation of BBC Director-General Tim Davie and Head of News Deborah Turness
