Roger Ebert & The Movies: 9-4-99
Note: "The New Show called "Ebert!" - Gene Siskel. LOL It's the very first season where it's no longer called "Siskel & Ebert". This time, the balcony is given an updated shiny look, new graphics and it's now known as "Roger Ebert & The Movies" and lasted until the fall, 2000. Also, I took Larry Koehn's capture recording that was originally from Scott's and blended with Don Gorelick's recording for the commercials. Unfortunately, it's stuck with the widescreen aspect ratio baked into 4:3 when using "ClipChamp".
Roger Ebert and Guest Critic, Joel Siegel from "Good Morning America" reviews "Chill Factor" (Sci-Fi Action film about two men who are about to send and protect a deadly chemical weapon from the hands of a group of mercenaries planning to sell the weapon to the highest bidder. Starring: Cuba Gooding Jr., Skeet Ulrich, David Paymer, Peter Firth and Daniel Hugh Kelly. Directed By: Hugh Johnson.) "In Too Deep" (Mesmerizing and Powerful Police Action Thriller with Omar Epps, LL Cool J. and Pam Grier.); "Dudley Do-Right" (Very underrated Jay Ward adaptation of a Canadian Mountie who always there saving his love interest from a sinister crook. Starring: Brendan Fraser, Sarah Jessica Parker and Alfred Molina. Directed By: Hugh Wilson.); "The Astronaut's Wife" (Very haunting Sci-Fi Horror Drama about an Astronaut who becomes peculiar. Starring: Johnny Depp, Charlize Theron and Joe Morton.) and "All the Little Animals" (Incredible Film with Christian Bale and John Hurt.)
Video Pick of the Week: Ebert's pick is The Beatles' psychedelic musical animated adventure, "The Yellow Submarine" (1969). (Celebrating it's 30th Anniversary at the time with a limited theatrical re-release until it reaches VHS, Laserdisc and DVD all digitally remastered with 5.1 Surround Sound. A very classic film to enjoy for all ages even "Beatles" fans!) And a recap of Today's program.
Recorded on KATU ABC 2 in Portland, Oregon with Commercials intact.
