YouTube’s New Rules Are Wrecking Gaming Creators

YouTube is cracking down hard on anything tied to gambling or graphic violence — and this is about to wreck a ton of gaming channels.

We’re talking loot boxes, cosmetics, horror games, even story-driven titles like GTA and Mortal Kombat. If your content shows realistic violence or in-game purchases, you could get hit.

And here’s the scary part — it’s not just new videos. Old uploads are being reviewed under these new rules. That means years of work — legit reviews, commentary, and retrospectives — could suddenly vanish from recommendations or get slapped with an age restriction.

As someone who’s already been hit with this — I’ve had Mortal Kombat and GTA reviews flagged, demonetized, or just quietly buried — I can tell you firsthand: the system is getting worse. Once YouTube flags you, the algorithm stops pushing your videos. Your reach drops, your engagement drops, and suddenly your entire channel feels invisible.

This new policy doesn’t protect creators — it punishes them. It treats legitimate gaming content like it’s adult entertainment, and that’s insane.

So yeah… are gaming channels cooked? At this rate, it’s not looking good.

If your channel’s been hit, or if you think YouTube’s going too far, drop a comment below — I want to hear your story.
