This TV Movie from 1983 was filmed live in two parts, from the stage play written by Terence Rattigan, also as a two part play.
Alan Bates and Julie Christie play the lead roles - the second part which takes place in the same hotel 18 months later, with Christie and Bates playing different characters.

A wonderful character study with great performances all round, including from Claire Bloom and Irene Worth.
Liz Smith and Kathy Staff are also noteworthy.
Julie Christie and Alan Bates are completely mesmerizing in both parts.

This part is called Table By The Window.
