With over 20 years of experience in the cannabis industry, Owen says he is passionate about supporting ethical and sustainable businesses. Owen is the founder of Ethical Growth, a consulting firm that helps cannabis companies develop social impact strategies and social responsibility marketing, where he hasa proven track record of legal advocacy and innovation in the cannabis sector.
In 2015, Owen won a landmark case at the Supreme Court of Canada that legalized cannabis edibles, extracts, and oils, opening up new markets and opportunities for patients and consumers. Owen is also a keynote speaker, a content creator, and a board member of the Victoria Cannabis Buyers Club, created and operated by Ted Smith. The VCBC is Canada's oldest compassion club, & the location of his original arrest that started the path to the Supreme Court. A decade later, Owen has self-published a book called "Legalizing Cannabis: Extracts" where he discusses the journey to The Supreme Court of Canada, The VCBC, Extracts & the experience of it all.
Owen is currently studying sociology and business at the University of Victoria and have a certification from amount Royal University for cannabis retail marketing.
