An electric song, where Neil yearns for an idealized figurative description of a woman (something which, itself, would become a figurative description in his lyrics), Cinnamon Girl, the first song on 1969 album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, the first album to be credited to Neil Young with the band Crazy Horse.
It was released as a single (backed with “Sugar Mountain”) on April 20th, 1970, peaking at number 55 on the Billboard Top 100.

Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
I wanna live with a cinnamon girl
I could be happy the rest of my life
With a cinnamon girl

[Verse 2]
A dreamer of pictures, I run in the night
You see us together, chasing the moonlight
My cinnamon girl

[Verse 3]
Ten silver saxes, a bass with a bow
The drummer relaxes and waits between shows
For his cinnamon girl

[Verse 2]
A dreamer of pictures, I run in the night
You see us together, chasing the moonlight
My cinnamon girl

[Bridge]
Pa, send me money now
I'm gonna make it somehow
I need another chance
You see, your baby loves to dance
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Woo
