The Cross & Resurrection — Eyewitnesses of the Risen Christ

Today we looked at one of the strongest pieces of evidence for the resurrection —
the eyewitnesses who saw Jesus alive after the crucifixion,
as recorded in 1 Corinthians 15:5–8.

📖 1 Corinthians 15:5–8 (CSB)

“He appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve.
Then he appeared to over five hundred brothers and sisters at one time…
Then he appeared to James…
Last of all… he also appeared to me.”

These were real people
with real encounters
with a real resurrected Jesus.

✨ Key truths from today’s teaching:

• Jesus restored Peter — proving grace is greater than failure.
• Jesus appeared to the disciples — showing that resurrection brings peace to fearful hearts.
• Jesus appeared to 500 believers at once — giving undeniable, public evidence.
• Jesus appeared to James — turning an unbelieving brother into a pillar of the early church.
• Jesus appeared to Paul — transforming an enemy into an apostle.

The resurrection didn’t happen in secret.
It wasn’t a myth, a dream, or a hallucination.

It happened in history — and people saw Him.

💭 Reflection:
– What doubt am I carrying that God wants to replace with truth?
– Do I live like Jesus is truly alive?
– What part of my story needs resurrection hope?
– Who in my life seems “too far gone” for God to reach — and how does Paul’s story challenge that?

Let this truth settle in your heart:

“If Jesus could reveal Himself to them —
He can reveal Himself to you.”
