The Enchanted Plectrum Card & Penny Magic Trick

I had a great time last night at the SAM meeting in Milwaukee with my fellow magicians shooting the 💩 and going over card tricks! I was able to bring my daughter to do some filming for me that I'll be using for my Plectrum Video to show what kind of routine I use for my card-to-plectrum effect. You can use any of your choices, and there are a lot out there. The routine I'm performing is not my own; I bought this routine to perform only about 15 years ago, and I really enjoy performing it and adding it to my Plectrum routine.

I also brought a Jack of J♦️ for Mark Martinez, who has been running the SAM in Milwaukee for a long, long time, and a K♣️ for Bob Rath, who's been keeping the magic going with the club since they were kids. So, I feel they deserve their own gifted Plectrum, and Mark plays the guitar and thinks it's amazingly cool! I just need to make a new one with the updated version that's thicker, and I'll bring it next time.

I was also able to show the club my new method for the three-card Monte handling that they've never seen before, which makes the effect so much smoother and better. I sell the new handling with my new Mr. Jack o'lantern pumpkin Monte routine! I had the Color Monte from 1994 and always tried to change the handling for it to make it better, and it wasn't until 2024 that I came out with a better way to handle the effect to make it look so much better.

What's funny about the Color Monte magic trick is that in 1995, I was going to a school called Learning Plus. The kids there took one of my Color Monte cards, hid it in a book, and said, 'If you're a magician, you'll find the card.' Well, I forgot about the card. The next year, I came back and looked at the bookcase, and for some reason, grabbed a book and opened it up right to the card they took. True story, what are the odds of that?
