Leslie Palacio, born on May 5, 1998, in Las Vegas, Nevada, was a bright and caring individual. She was pursuing her dream of becoming a medical professional and worked part-time as a lab technician. Leslie's disappearance on August 29, 2020, after spending an evening with Eric Rangel Ibara, led to a frantic search. Surveillance footage and subsequent investigation revealed that Leslie had been with Eric, who, along with his father Jose, was later seen carrying her body out of their house.

Leslie's body was found near the Valley of Fire on September 9, 2020, leading to public outcry and demands for justice. Eric and his father fled to Mexico to evade capture. Jose eventually turned himself in and was sentenced to only two years for his involvement in covering up the crime, a sentence that caused outrage among Leslie's family and the community.

The Palacio family continues to seek justice for Leslie, hoping to bring Eric back to the United States to face charges and receive a proper punishment. They are also pushing for legal changes in Nevada to ensure harsher penalties for those involved in such crimes.
