Germany is once again at the center of Europe’s escalating struggle over economic security, deindustrialization, and the push to decouple from key global suppliers — this time, China. As energy prices soar and political leaders double down on confrontation, Germany’s economy faces mounting pressure. The EU has already paid a high price for severing ties with Russian energy.
