Super Mario Bros. 3 - Superplay (Part 13/25)

Level 8 is the hardest of this bunch when it comes to collecting everything without getting hit. Luckily, I was able to play it first, so when I failed, I didn't have to redo much.

Level 9 was not hard for me but I still felt a little bit uneasy regarding the few enemies in it, so I played it second.

After figuring it out, level 7 was the safest for me to play, so I saved it for last.

I had two options of roughly equal difficulty when it came to the castle.
The first option was to get the fire flower in it, to ease the jumps on the boss because the leaf makes it awkward to jump on him. Ideally, I want to do a short press on the jump button to get in the air but not at full height, so I can quickly land on the boss to neutralize him as soon as possible; and at the same time, while I'm in the air, I want to repress the jump button to have a big bounce on the boss so I can move away to a safe location quickly. The problem with the leaf is when I repress the jump button, Mario slows down his descent, giving the boss more time to move before I can neutralize him.
The second option was to keep my leaf power-up. There are two places during the platforming section of the castle where it's safer to be on the upper part of the level than on the bottom path. The leaf power-up makes it easier to stay above at the first of those two locations, and it makes it possible at all to stay above at the second location.
