Guard battalion trains urban combat in the Junfernheide subway station - Berlin bulwark

In the third week of November 2025, the Guard Battalion practiced urban warfare in Berlin. The exercise, codenamed "Bulwark Berlin," was designed to train the battalion's infantry capabilities. In addition to its ceremonial duties, the Guard Battalion is also tasked with protecting federal and governmental facilities in the event of conflict. Since the Berlin subway is a vital mode of transportation, especially during rush hour, making subway training particularly important, this exercise was crucial. This was the first exercise of its kind conducted in cooperation with the Berlin public transport company (BVG).

The video includes commentary from the Guard Battalion commander, Lieutenant Colonel Maik Teichgräber, a platoon leader, and a participant in the exercise. Viewers see the soldiers entering the subway station and proceeding through the tunnel to a subway train that had been stopped by "separatists." The train contained civilians and members of the Guard Battalion, some of whom were injured. A firefight ensues with the separatists. Afterwards, the subway train is secured, and the wounded are rescued and given first aid. At the end of the video, the soldiers leave the subway station and transport the wounded to vehicles.
