They BURNED me in effigy!

An old tradition of burning Guy Fawkes opens up a deeper truth: community rituals that once gathered people freely are fading, while the system grows ever more suspicious of unsupervised togetherness — a suspicion I’ve felt myself, given that effigies of me were burned during one of my UK scandals. What vanishes isn’t just folklore but the communal spirit that centralized power can’t control and therefore quietly smothers.
