We say “I’ll try” every day — but try does not mean do.
In the Bible, the words translated as “try” mean test, examine, or prove, not obey.
Hebrew — bachan (Strong’s H974):
to test, examine, prove.
Greek — peirazo (Strong’s G3985):
to test, tempt, or try.
Not one time does God say “try to obey Me.”
Try leaves a back door open.
Try is hesitation.
Try is uncertainty.
Try is a soft commitment.
God doesn’t say try — He says do, go, keep, follow, and stand.
Trying is effort.
Doing is obedience.
