Franks and Beans on the Blackstone Camping Griddle
Jeremy shares the story behind his childhood favorite as he recreates his grandfather’s classic franks and beans with an elevated twist. Cooking on the Blackstone camping setup, he builds the dish with bacon, peppers, onions, and his secret trio of ingredients. Ingredients
1 can baked beans
1 green pepper, diced
1 onion, diced
3–4 slices thick-cut bacon, sliced
3–4 hot dogs, sliced
Sweet Baby Ray’s Hickory & Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce
Maple syrup
Blackstone Spicy Brown Sugar Seasoning
Directions
1. Dice the green pepper and onion.
2. Slice the bacon and hot dogs into bite-sized pieces.
3. Set your side burner to low heat and pour the baked beans into a saucepan to warm.
4. On the griddle set to medium heat, add the sliced bacon.
5. After about one minute, add the diced peppers and onions to the griddle with the bacon.
6. One minute later, add the sliced hot dogs to a separate area of the griddle.
7. When the bacon, vegetables, and hot dogs are cooked through, transfer everything into the saucepan of baked beans and stir well.
8. Add Sweet Baby Ray’s, maple syrup, and Blackstone Spicy Brown Sugar Seasoning. Mix thoroughly.
9. Add another round of Sweet Baby Ray’s, maple syrup, and seasoning, and stir again.
10. Serve and enjoy!
