Hollywood has been claiming that COVID and the double strikes are STILL to blame for people not going back to the theater (what??) but it's likely that they're just not putting out movies that audiences think are theatergoing experiences. Both Zootopia 2 and Wicked for Good look like they're going to smash records, and Avatar 3 and FNAF 2 will no doubt make bank, too.

They're even watching theatrical anime in droves.

Face it. If people aren't going to your latest entry in a "tent pole franchise" it's a YOU problem, not a THEM problem.
