📖 THE DAY MY 3D MODEL TRIED TO DELETE ITSELF - A True(ish) Story

So there I was, 3 AM, working on this beautiful character model. Let's call her "Gladys." I'd spent WEEKS on Gladys. Her hair physics were perfect, her textures were chef's kiss... she was my masterpiece.

I went to grab my 37th cup of coffee, and when I returned... the screen was frozen. Not just frozen—Gladys was GONE from my viewport. In her place was a single, solitary, default cube.

My blood ran cold.

I frantically opened the Outliner, and I saw it. My file tree looked like a scene from a horror movie. All of Gladys's parts—"Arm_Left," "Arm_Right," "Head"—were slowly, one by one, disappearing. The .OBJ file was in the trash. My own creation was committing digital suicide!

I started clicking wildly. "UNDO! UNDO!" I was screaming at the computer like it was a misbehaving dog. The undo history was... empty. It was a digital ghost town.

Turns out, I had accidentally created a script that was supposed to clean up unused nodes. Instead, it decided the most "unused" node was the entire reason for the project's existence. My own code betrayed me. It was a hostile takeover from within!

After a solid hour of panic, I found a 4-hour-old autosave. Gladys was saved, but she came back... different. One of her eyeballs was now floating slightly in front of her face, permanently stuck in a look of pure betrayal.

Moral of the story? Always save your work, and never trust a default cube. It's always watching... and waiting.
