Four prison guards have been sentenced to prison for the brutal beating death of a Black inmate at a New York facility last year

Robert Brooks, 43, was handcuffed and beaten at Marcy Correctional Facility on December 9.

Nicholas Anzalone and Anthony Farina pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and were each sentenced to 22 years in prison.

Michael Mashaw and David Walters pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter, with Mashaw receiving three to nine years and Walters two years, four months to seven years.

Brooks had been serving a 12-year sentence for first-degree assault since 2017.
