The Secret of the Lord Part 6: Distinguishing the Gospel of the Kingdom and the Gospel of Grace

In this lesson, we continue our study of The Secret of the Lord by addressing one of the most misunderstood subjects in the modern church: the distinction between the Gospel of the Kingdom proclaimed to Israel and the Gospel of the Grace of God revealed to Paul. Understanding these two messages is essential for rightly dividing the Word of truth and resisting the confusion and apostasy now spreading across social media and popular Christian culture.

Psalm 25:14 reminds us that “The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him.” God grants understanding to those who approach His Word with reverence, and Scripture clearly presents two distinct programs—one for Israel’s national salvation and one for the Body of Christ.

Key Themes in This Lesson
1. Israel’s National Salvation and the Gospel of the Kingdom
Jesus commissioned the twelve apostles to preach exclusively to Israel that the kingdom of heaven was at hand (Matthew 10:5–7). This message focused on Israel’s promised earthly kingdom, foretold by the prophets since the foundation of the world (Luke 1:68–72).
Peter’s call for repentance and water baptism in Acts 2:36–38 was part of this national program, preparing Israel for their future restoration and priestly calling (Ezekiel 36:25–28; 1 Peter 2:9–10).
2. The Gospel of the Grace of God Revealed to Paul
In contrast, Paul received a gospel “kept secret since the world began” (Romans 16:25–26). This heavenly calling brings Jews and Gentiles together in one spiritual body through the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 3:5–6; 1 Corinthians 12:13).
Salvation in this program is by grace through faith, not works or covenant obedience (Ephesians 2:8–9). Paul’s commission did not depend on water baptism or ceremonial requirements (1 Corinthians 1:17).
3. Why Mixing These Messages Creates Confusion
Blending Israel’s kingdom program with Paul’s mystery gospel leads to doctrinal instability and opens the door for false teachings. This confusion is widespread today, intensified by unlearned influencers online who ignore God’s divisions in Scripture.

Rightly dividing the Word reveals God’s purpose for Israel and the Body of Christ without contradiction or loss of clarity.

Summary
