Why sign? Even if we already know they didn’t use proper gear, didn’t follow their own guidelines, and carried out an inhumane cull, an e-petition demands:
• The names of personnel involved
• Official logs from each vet
• Equipment lists
• Intervention notes
• Written rationale for each stage of the cull
This forces the government into a corner:
If the documents don’t exist that exposes misconduct.
If the documents contradict what we all saw that exposes false reporting.
If the documents confirm wrongdoing that becomes evidence for oversight bodies and the Auditor General.
This forces them to answer questions they’ve been avoiding
• Why were ostriches healthy for 291 days?
• Why were CFIA guidelines violated?
• Why was a bullet-based kill used instead of approved methods?
• Why was protective gear inconsistent?
• Why were basic welfare standards ignored?

They can dodge social pressure but not a required parliamentary reply.
