[Verse 1]
This morning, I woke up with a storm in my head— the kind that makes the world feel heavy even before the first word is said. I was sitting there smoking on a joint, staring at nothing, trying to gather my thoughts, but they scattered like autumn leaves in the wind.

Then something small and unexpected happened.

I remembered a voice — steady, warm, familiar.
A voice that once reminded me to breathe, to hope, to keep going when life felt loud.

[verse 2]
It wasn’t the words that mattered.
It was the calm.
The way certain people bring peace just by being who they are.

[chorus]
I realized in that moment that some people are like God’s gentle reminders…
Not loud. Not forceful.
Just quietly powerful.
The kind of souls who make you feel like the world isn’t such a heavy place after all.
And it made me think:
If more of us shared our calm, our stories, our hearts…
Maybe the world would feel a little lighter for someone else too.

[spoken word]
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul, for his names sake, though I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. for thou art with me and thy rod and staff comfort me.”

Some people are those still waters and the light through that valley of darkness.
And I’m so very grateful for every one of them people.
the ones that lifted me up and stuck by my side. through the dark times.

[verse 3]
It wasn’t the words that mattered.
It was the calm.
The way certain people bring peace just by being who they are.

[chorus]
I realized in that moment that some people are like God’s gentle reminders…
Not loud. Not forceful.
Just quietly powerful.
The kind of souls who make you feel like the world isn’t such a heavy place after all.
And it made me think:

[spoken word]
Jesus said love your neighbor as you love yourself,
he said don't hate your enemy, or those who despitefully use you,
but bless them and pray for them.
none of us are perfect.
we all have flaws.
we all have pains.
we all have feelings.
so instead of putting someone down for their flaws or pains or feelings.
lift them up through their darkness.
bless them and pray for them.
we all bleed red.
and I know I'm thankful for every single person that has lifted Me up through my darkest of times.
And from the bottom of my heart,
thank you.
