All my clients are surprised when they learn how many issues they can fix by properly activating this muscle. The reason is because this muscle controls your hip behavior, which is connected downstream to your knee and upstream to your spine. So, this muscle is the root of a lot of joint function issues. Do the single leg squat test I do in the beginning and see if yours is wobbly. If it is, do the exercise I showed for 15 to 20 reps 2 to 3 sets a few times per week. Add a pad under the knee if you need more of a challenge. This should activate things a lot better and strengthen the area to help you resolve a lot of issues that can be happening with the low back and knee.
