Ditching flooded road in late November

We were supposed to install a 15” drainage pipe in this low spot back in the late summer, but we ran out of time. A weird warm weather flash torrential downpour today left a huge puddle on our driveway that will become a sheet of ice for the whole winter, if not drained off immediately. So a small drainage channel was scraped open with the backhoe, and the resulting dirt heap was rounded off by the front end loader bucket. Thirty minutes later, 90% of the water had drained away.
