Two years, 1500 rounds, dirt, rain, and range days later — is the Ruger SFAR 16" .308 a keeper or a paperweight? In this follow-up review I cover long-term reliability, accuracy over time, maintenance surprises, and whether I’d recommend this rifle to friends or sell it off.
In this video I cover:
My overall verdict after 2 years
Real-world reliability: malfunction log & failure modes
Accuracy: groups at 100 yards
Durability: finish, gas system, and wear observations
Maintenance: what I had to fix or replace
Who this rifle is (and isn’t) for
Final recommendation: keep, trade, or ditch?
Specs (my build):
Model: Ruger SFAR 16" .308
Barrel: 16" (factory spec)
Optic: Aken LH4 4-16x44 on Arken Mount
Ammo used: Federal 175gr Terminal Ascent
Rounds fired: ~1500 since new
