The foundation of human rights requires more examination than often given. Steven Pinker uses terms like "sacred" to describe human life while arguing for purely secular humanism. But this raises a critical question: what actually grounds human equality and dignity? If it's just collective human opinion, what makes those opinions objectively true rather than arbitrary preferences? The concept that all humans are made in the image of God provides an objective foundation—something exists beyond human minds that makes human equality true.
