In this episode, we take a closer look at the Smith & Wesson Model 31-1, a 50+ year-old .32 caliber J-frame revolver, and put it through its paces at the range.
🔧 Originally an I-frame design (I mistakenly called it an N-frame during the video), the 31-1 transitioned to the J-frame in 1969. In its factory setup, this revolver can shoot:
• .32 S&W Long
• .32 S&W (Short)
• .32 ACP
We ran group testing with 4 different handloads, including:
• Two 85gr Hornady XTP loads in .32 Long
• One 78gr Acme HTC in .32 Short
• One 85gr XTP in .32 ACP
🛠️ Later models of this line can be modified to fire .32 H&R Magnum with a cylinder ream.
🎯 Whether you’re into vintage wheel guns or multi-caliber testing, this episode is for you.
