CS #174-The Prisoner
The Prisoner is a British black-and-white psychological thriller based on a popular stage play, dealing with the intense battle of wills between a Cardinal (Alec Guinness), imprisoned as a traitor in an Eastern Bloc country, and his Inquisitor (Jack Hawkins). The film was controversial at the time of its release and was banned by both the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals, but received several BAFTA nominations.
