O'Donnell, who stated she moved her family to Ireland to escape the current U.S. political climate, expressed concern that her own TDS may have inadvertently influenced her daughter's distress. She recounted how her child connects their relocation directly to the President, telling Acosta, "He made us move in order for our own safety, and now he's destroying the country".​

Meanwhile, tensions flared at Mar-a-Lago over the Thanksgiving holiday when President Trump verbally attacked a reporter during a briefing about the tragic shooting of two National Guard troops in Washington, D.C.. When CBS News correspondent Nancy Cordes asked why the President blamed the Biden administration for the attack, Trump retorted, "Are you stupid? Are you a stupid person?".
