BRITS TRY MINI PUMPKIN WHOOPIE PIES FOR THE FIRST TIME — and we were absolutely NOT ready for how good these are! 🎃🇬🇧🇺🇸

Today we’re making Mini Pumpkin Whoopie Pies for the very first time — a classic American fall dessert we’ve never even tasted before. Soft, spiced little cakes sandwiched with the creamiest frosting… and honestly, we had no idea if these would turn out well. But that’s the fun of this channel — real reactions, real cooking, and a little British family discovering iconic American recipes one dish at a time.

We start by mixing the dry ingredients — flour, salt, baking soda (bicarb), and pumpkin pie spice. In our last video, we admitted we weren’t pumpkin-spice fans… and many of you told us pumpkin spice doesn’t contain pumpkin at all. Just the spices used in pumpkin pie! And you were right — after enjoying the pumpkin pie we made recently, we’re giving pumpkin spice another chance.

Next up: eggs, sugar, melted butter, and a big scoop of Libby’s 100% Pure Pumpkin to bring these Whoopie Pies to life. Today’s recipe comes from one of the best baking books in America — America’s Test Kitchen: The Perfect Cookie. If you want a reliable cookie / dessert cookbook, ATK recipes NEVER miss.

Huge thank you to Theresa Horn for sending us the batter dispenser (one of Bart’s old favourites!). It worked far better than a piping bag and kept the kitchen at least 50% cleaner than usual. These little mounds go into the oven at 350°F for 10–12 minutes, rotated halfway, then cooled before we whip up the filling.

For the filling, we combine icing sugar, butter, and cream cheese into the fluffiest, smoothest Whoopie Pie frosting. Soft, sticky, spiced little cakes + cream cheese frosting = heaven.

And now… the taste test.
Were these Whoopie Pies a hit with a couple of Brits who thought they didn’t like pumpkin?
Let’s just say: we stand corrected.
Moist, soft, cakey, spiced, creamy — surprisingly reminiscent of ginger cake and carrot cake, but even better.
And yes… we may now officially be pumpkin fans.
