A CFL wide receiver and former Oregon Ducks player has been identified as the driver in a high-speed police chase on November 17, 2025, in Arkansas—one day after the Grey Cup.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers released a brief statement saying they were aware of the incident involving Dillon Mitchell and were gathering more information.

Mitchell, 28, was a notable free-agent signing but saw limited action this season, finishing with 19 catches for 193 yards and one touchdown. He previously played three seasons in Edmonton after being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2019.

According to the trooper’s report, the driver of a black Ford Mustang fled at speeds over 100 mph, ran a red light, nearly collided with another vehicle, and eventually lost control while trying to exit Interstate 555. The car struck an exit-sign structure before stopping. Mitchell was taken into custody without incident.

He faces multiple charges, including felony fleeing, DWI, refusal to submit to testing, reckless driving, speeding, and other traffic violations. Bail was set at $5,000 cash-only.
