How to setup Wireguard Client on Arch Linux (2025)

WireGuard VPN Client Setup on Arch Linux | Complete Step-by-Step Configuration Guide

In this video I have shown how you can setup wireguard client on Arch Linux.
There are many Different flavors of Arch linux like CachyOS or Manjaro but the process is same on all Arch linux based operating systems.

============
Commands
============

To Install Client :
-----------------------------
sudo pacman -S wireguard-tools

Edit congiruation file:
------------------------------------
sudo nano /etc/wireguard/wg0.confg

Paste the configuration text copied from OPNSENSE

If you have IPtables firewall enabled then use below commands to allow.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
sudo iptables -A INPUT -p upd --dport 51820 -j ACCEPT
sudo iptables -A FORWARD -i wg0 -j ACCEPT
sudo iptables -A FORWARD -o wg0 -j ACCEPT

To Enable client :
-----------------------------

sudo wg-quick up wg0

Then check the IP address to make sure if the connection is getting the IP from VPN server.
I used speedtest but you can what ip my ip as well.
