While AI offers real benefits—supportive conversation, stress reduction, and companionship—experts emphasize the importance of digital literacy and healthy boundaries. Families are encouraged to monitor excessive AI usage and watch for warning signs such as withdrawal from real relationships, obsessive engagement with AI companions, or claims that the AI has emotions or intentions.

Ultimately, the growing concern is not that AI is inherently dangerous, but that humans may project their own emotional needs onto these systems. As technology evolves, society must balance innovation with awareness, ensuring that AI enhances wellbeing rather than quietly contributing to psychological risks.
