A look at the prayers of Jeremiah in chapter 15 and chapter 17. Even though Jeremiah was greatly discouraged, he still shows and tells of his love for the Word of God. ... know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke Jeremiah has been obedient to God, and has now been hated for it. The people do not want to hear the truth – they just want to hear what makes them feels good. But that is not what they need to hear. When you read through the Book of Jeremiah, you see a man that is candid with God in his prayers. More than once, Jeremiah was ready to lie down and quit, things were that difficult and discouraging. But God’s Word was in Jeremiah’s heart . God’s Word burned in Jeremiah’s heart and Jeremiah could not but help continue to speak what God has told him. The LORD wants you to be open in your prayer to Him. Be forthright and do not doubt the LORD.
