Twitch introduced -- and almost immediately walked back -- a ridiculous $5,000 membership tier that allows you to gift memberships to 1,000 people. Because of course nobody would use that to troll a streamer and subsequently initiate a chargeback a few months later. Absolutely not.

What's the most interesting thing to come out of this fiasco is that a former Twitch dev says the company is not in great shape financially, and that Amazon is crackin' that whip to get them to bring in more revenue.
