Rahmanullah Lakanwal, the shooter of the two National Guardsman is DC, has quite an interesting background... He worked with the CIA & military as part of the "Zero Unit" in Afghanistan which were notorious for being death squads. He then was accepted into the United States on parole in 2021 under Biden's "Operation Allies Welcome" program but was officially granted asylum by Trump's administration in April of 2025...
