The Danger of Denominations

Denominationalism--of any type; of any size--is inescapably a departure from God's Word: it's only a matter of degree. Jesus repeatedly warned about the "traditions of men" . . . His warning is as appropriate today as the day he spoke it.
The signal characteristic of any "denomination" (and some denominations claim they aren't one) is the addition of man's innovations, additions, hobbyhorses, and over-spotlighted pet sins to the mix instead of faithful fidelity to God's Word.
The "innovations" and "additions" over time override God's Word itself . . . first they attain equal authority, then they eclipse it to the ignoring or reversing of what the scriptures actually teach.
