The following is an illustrated presentation of my sitcom script for 'Falling Stars'.

Falling Stars – Synopsis
Two expiring celebrities struggle to keep up their media profile amid a wave of fresher faces crashing onto the scene.

Approaching 30 and well past their ‘15 minutes of fame’, Orlando Santa Cruz and Lance Ogden must fight to keep their names in the news by any means possible.

The fading celebs have to compete for media stunts set up by their crafty agent, and sabotaged at every opportunity by Orlando’s radical sister Lucy – the antithesis to what her brother and Lance stand for.

In a failed attempt to appear glamorous, the pair decorated their modest council house with polystyrene pillars, gold-coloured furnishings, and a leaky interior fountain, much to Lucy’s dismay.

Falling Stars takes a comedic look at the come-today-gone-tomorrow nature of celebrity culture and what happens when the stars fall from grace.

Characters
Orlando Santa Cruz (28) – Vacuous but charismatic, Orlando is ready to steal thunder by being louder and cruder than everyone else. With work drying up, he feels the pressure from the new kids on the block, eager to steal his talentless-but-likeable crown.

Lance Ogden (26) – Famous for being voted off first on every show he ever appeared on, Lance’s career quickly descended into self-deprecating appearances and demeaning tabloid stunts. He rents a room in Orlando and Lucy’s ‘Celebrity Manor’ – not an easy situation given his rivalry with Orlando and affections for Lucy.

Lucy Mass (26) – Lucy is a revolutionary blogger who likes to revel in the hardship of being a struggling writer. The shallow goals of her brother and oldest friend Lance constantly annoy her – although it does mean she usually has a battle at hand, which is when she’s most content.

Des’ree O’Hara (42) – Struggling agent and ‘Fame Guru’ Des’ree O’Hara represents Lance and Orlando’s dwindling careers, the jewels in her client crown. She’ll stop at nothing to turn someone, and ultimately herself, into the toast of TV World. Des’ree shares a single divan with her cat, Cowell. For both of them, the situation has reached big time or bust.
