3 John is tiny, but it hits hard.

John basically shows you two kinds of people in the church:

1. Gaius — the humble servant who loves truth, supports God’s work, and builds people up.
2. Diotrephes — the loud, prideful one who wants the spotlight, rejects authority, gossips, and tears people down.

Same church. Two completely different spirits.

The message?
Be a Gaius, not a Diotrephes.
Some people serve quietly. Others crave control. God sees both.

John says real faith looks like supporting truth, loving others, and walking in integrity when no one is watching.

Clout doesn’t impress heaven. Character does.

And listen—every church, every community, every friend group has both types of people.

You choose which one you become.

So stay humble. Stay faithful. Stay aligned with truth.

Because God loves to elevate the ones who don’t elevate themselves.
