Byron Allen’s Media Group has reached a major settlement in its $10 billion racial discrimination lawsuit against #McDonald’s, a case that accused the fast-food giant of shutting out Black-owned media from fair advertising deals.

Allen’s suit alleged that McDonald’s placed Black-owned media companies in “lower-tier” ad categories with smaller budgets, effectively denying them the same opportunities given to white-owned outlets.

While the exact terms are confidential, the deal includes dismissal of a related $100 million lawsuit and ensures McDonald’s will continue buying ad space from Allen’s company as part of its marketing strategy.

The agreement is a huge win for equity and Black-owned media, spotlighting the long-standing fight for fair representation in corporate advertising.
