On November 28, 2025, at approximately 10:55 p.m., two motorcyclists, 53-year-old Job Martinez and 36-year-old Scott Kikes, were stopped at a red light on North 7th Avenue near Interstate 17 in Phoenix, Arizona. The riders, both on separate motorcycles, engaged in a physical altercation after a minor collision between their bikes.

During the fight, Martinez drew a handgun and fired multiple shots at Kikes, striking him in the torso. Kikes collapsed on the roadway with life-threatening injuries. As Martinez began walking away from the scene, a nearby driver who had witnessed the shooting accelerated his vehicle and struck Martinez, causing severe injuries.

Phoenix Police Department officers arrived shortly after and found both men injured. Emergency medical personnel transported Kikes and Martinez to a local hospital. Kikes was pronounced dead on arrival from gunshot wounds. Martinez succumbed to his injuries hours later.

The driver who hit Martinez was detained at the scene for questioning but was released pending further investigation. Police recovered the firearm and are reviewing cell phone video footage.
