Critique:Slandered by those who are a "synagogue of Satan".

Call to action:Do not fear future persecution;be faithful even unto death.
Promise:Receive the "crown of life" and will not be hurt by the second death.

Pergamum (verses 12-17)

Praise:Remained true to Jesus' name and did not deny their faith, even in a place where Satan's throne exists.

Critique:Tolerated people who held to the teachings of Balaam and the Nicolaitans.

Call to action:Repent, or Jesus will fight against them with the sword of his mouth.

Promise:Overcomers will receive hidden manna and a white stone with a new name.

Thyatira (verses 18-29)

Praise:

Praised for their love, faith, service, and perseverance, with their deeds increasing.

Critique:

Tolerated a woman named Jezebel who was misleading people into sexual immorality and idol worship.

Call to action:

Repent;otherwise, she will face judgment, and those who commit adultery with her will also suffer.

Promise:

Overcomers who keep His works until the end will receive authority over the nations and the morning star.
