A Communist in Rockefeller Center

This is Korvus Keel. Today, I am talking about the time me and my communist uncle went to Rockefeller Center in New York City over thirty years ago. At the time, my uncle wasn’t that bad. I mean he was a shit lib, but he wasn’t a full-blown insane communist yet. Anyway, he took a trip from Rhode Island to New York City in December of a certain year three decades ago, and I took a trip from the location I was at and we met up and went into Manhattan in New York City. We specifically went to Rockefeller Center, not to see the tree or the ice skating ring, but to find the remnants of communist propaganda in the tunnels beneath Rockefeller Center. You see when they were opening up Rockefeller Center, they had an artist named Diego Rivera, a Beaner from Mexico, do some artwork in the tunnels. One of the pieces of art was named Man at the Crossroads, which had Lenin in the mural. Nelson Rockefeller who had sponsored the project was enraged by this and demanded it to be removed, and it was in 1934. Even though it was removed, my uncle knew there was other artwork that could be considered communist down there. Before we went there, we went past the nearby Diamond District, where his favorite people, the you know who’s operate out of. At the time it meant nothing, but through my adult eyes, I think now what the fuck are these people doing in our country. Anyway, we go down in the tunnels in Rockefeller Center and we found various inspiring pieces of artwork. My uncle wanted to claim this was by Diego Rivera, but a quick AI search reveals most of these were other artists, might have been communists, but who knows. The art work seemed to be art deco, so my uncle wanted to believe this was communist inspired, but even as we finished our tour of the tunnels, he admitted that most of the communist stuff was probably covered up. Well, that is my story about my dumb ass Communist Uncle who I haven’t seen in thirty years. Korvus Keel, over and out. Keep Walking.
