ANOTHER ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT TRUCK DRIVER Crashes, Killing Innocent Couple | Gavin Newsom's California

A truck driver charged with killing a newlywed couple in a horrific crash in Oregon is alleged to be an illegal migrant who was issued a commercial driver’s license in Gavin Newsom’s California. The driver, Rajinder Kumar, 32, was identified by federal authorities as an Indian national who entered the U.S. illegally and later received work authorization and a CDL in California in 2023. On November 24, Kumar allegedly jackknifed his semi-truck on a highway near Bend, Oregon, causing a crash that killed newlyweds William Carter and Jennifer Lower — married just 16 days prior to the crash. Federal officials say an immigration detainer has now been placed on Kumar, criticizing policies that allowed him to be licensed while undocumented.

Meanwhile, California has revoked 17,000 commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) issued to immigrants after a federal audit found many licenses remained valid beyond the holders’ authorized stay in the U.S. The decision came after pressure from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), following fatal crashes allegedly involving immigrant drivers who had obtained CDLs under lax state standards. Gavin Newsom’s administration insists the revocations aren’t about immigration status, claiming the drivers had valid work authorizations when licensed — however, state officials admitted the licenses violated law by not matching the drivers’ legal status. Sean P. Duffy, the U.S. Transportation Secretary overseeing the audit, framed the move as proof California had “illegally issued” non-domiciled CDLs and warned of further federal funding cuts if compliance isn’t complete.
