Our God-given POWER to Choose • EP 805

Everything is built around choice. The same way God is Creator, and has invested in us The portion of His creativity, God is Sovereign, and has invested in us a measure of sovereignty as well. We are not puppets. If choice is taken out of the human equation, nothing is left but God playing a big game with humans as His chess pieces. This is the antithesis of the primary nature of God, which is Love.

God has a will and so do we. He will not cross our will. He has however, designed anf chosen a destiny for each of us, a destiny that we must agree with in order to see it fulfilled. He has stated emphatically that it is not His will for anyone to perish, which means going to an eternal hell, and yet, He also declares in His Word that many do.

2 Peter 3:9 ~
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

Matthew 7:13-14 ~
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life, and few there be that find it.”

Joshua 24:15 ~
"And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, CHOOSE FOR YOURSELVES this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Matthew 11:28 30 (Invites a decision...choice to follow) ~
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I Am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

John 7:17 (Willingness to obey...choice) ~
“If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.”

Revelation 3:20 (Open/close – personal decision) ~
"Behold, I [Jesus] stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me."

Philippians 1:21-22 ~
"For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall CHOOSE I wot not."

Deuteronomy 30:19 ~
"I call Heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore CHOOSE LIFE, that both you and your seed may live."
