On December 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin will arrive in New Delhi for a landmark two-day meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This is Putin's first visit in four years.

Dubbed by both Indian and Russian sides as a “super-high-level visit”, it underscores the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia.

➡️ What’s on Modi-Putin's agenda:

1️⃣ Energy сrosshairs

▪️Sanctions? Who cares! India remains a major buyer of Russian oil, despite US sanctions and tariffs.

▪️Leaders will reportedly discuss mechanisms to maintain steady energy supplies and explore collaboration in oil infrastructure and equipment.

2️⃣ Trade & Finance

▪️Bilateral trade reached $68.7 billion in 2024–25, with plans to grow to $100 billion by 2030.

▪️Discussions will include expanding Indian exports to Russia, financial cooperation, and introducing the Russian payment system “Mir” in India.

▪️A labour mobility agreement will enable skilled Indian workers to support Russian projects in IT, construction, and industry.

3️⃣ Defence & Tech

▪️About 70% of India’s defense arsenal is Russian-origin.

▪️Talks will cover joint production of Su-57 jets, advanced S-500 air defense systems, and technology transfer under the “Make in India” initiative.

What’s at stake

▪️The visit reinforces Eurasian ties amidst pressure from the US and the West.

▪️Russia, India, and China are strengthening multilateral cooperation, showcasing a new balance of power in Asia.

▪️For India, it reflects a commitment to strategic autonomy—prioritiыing pragmatic, mutually beneficial partnerships over transactional politics.

Why this summit matters

▪️The summit signals a strong, enduring friendship between Putin and Modi.

▪️India continues to diversify energy sources and defence partnerships, while Russia secures stable strategic allies amid Western anger and sanctions.

▪️This visit highlights that economic pragmatism and long-term trust matter more than short-term political pressures.

▪️Modi and Putin are showing the world what a true strategic partnership should be—strong, multifaceted, and shaping Eurasia’s future.

Looks like the West and US are losing it. 🤭
