Immigrant Attacks the U.S. but Admits She Can’t Leave

The statements of an immigrant who claimed to have lived 38 years in the United States have sparked outrage among citizens and sectors who find it offensive that someone who arrived seeking opportunities is now attacking the very country that opened its doors to her. In a message filled with dramatics, she said she was “disappointed” and described the United States as “a façade, smoke and mirrors,” asserting that she is “ready to leave” as soon as she can gather the resources.

Her testimony quickly ignited debate, especially among conservative voices who pointed out the obvious contradiction: she harshly criticized the nation yet admitted she depends on it financially and cannot leave. In other words, she continues living, working, and benefiting from the same country she now accuses of having become “fascist.”

Under President Trump’s administration, the United States has made it clear that those who come to the country must respect it, contribute, and value the opportunities it provides. The victim mentality portrayed by this immigrant—who has spent nearly four decades enjoying rights, freedom, and prosperity—reflects a narrative fueled by the radical left, a sector intent on blaming the United States for all their personal failures.

Saying she is “ready to leave,” but only “when she can financially,” reveals a truth many avoid acknowledging: the United States is still the country supporting millions, even those who now criticize it. If she truly believed she was living in an oppressive nation, nothing is stopping her from seeking a country more aligned with her beliefs. But, as often happens, those who attack this country the most are the ones least willing to give up the benefits it offers.

At a time when the Trump administration is working to secure the borders, strengthen the economy, and restore national security, comments like hers are not only unfair but deeply ungrateful. The United States owes no loyalty to those who use it and then insult it; on the contrary, it is the responsibility of every immigrant to respect the country they chose and that gave them far more than what they had in their nation of origin.

And the conclusion is simple: if after 38 years she does not appreciate what this country has given her, she is free to leave whenever she wants. But attacking the United States while depending on it financially is not courage—it is hypocrisy.
