When you embrace your family, you form a meaningful bond with them. You want what is best for them, and you work to meet their needs. These actions are expressions of devotion. Yet devotion does not require agreeing with every family member. Rather, it means continually seeking their well-being to the best of your ability.
A patriot’s devotion to their nation follows the same pattern. They may not support every decision their country makes, but they remain committed to promoting its welfare and contributing to its good.
